Natural Perfume making isn’t only about the fragrant, component parts of the perfume, it is largely about the synergy that occurs between a perfumer operating as a 'conductor' and the individual notes as they form chords, harmonies, dissonances, resolutions and fragrance dynamics that make a truly beautiful perfume.

The animation of the perfume is held in a sort of stasis until its alchemy is ignited by the chemistry of the wearer. Here is where perfume becomes fully alive; activated, released, as it were, from the confines of cold glass to the warmth of the wearer's blood and skin, emboldened by emotions as they deploy a symphony of sugars, acids, electrical impulses and heartbeat in partnership with the fragrant instruments of the orchestra.

Five Nectars' range of Handmade Perfumes are unique and exquisite. Containing only pure, natural essential oils, absolutes, resins and balsams, these perfumes are rare, precious and highly exclusive. All of our perfumes are produced in limited editions, each batch is restricted to 20 bottles only, which ensures that your signature perfume is yours (unless your 19 best friends all purchase one too). NECTAR 1 - SUMMER SOLSTICE

is a romantic pageant of flowers, fruit and spices. This art nouveau garland greets you with open arms, enfolding you in the elegantly floral, green notes of Violet Leaves, which are stridently carried by a cool citrus sorbet of Bergamot, Tangerine & White Grapefruit. This fresh overture tantalisingly yields to the warm, seductive heart chord of Ylang Ylang, Rosewood and Egyptian Geranium. The lingering refrain swoons into a sophisticated cocktail of Aged Patchouli, Clary Sage, Frankincense & Ginger which, when ready, gradually trails into the horizon.

Each bottle is a frosted glass leaf filled with 9mls of pure, undiluted perfume. Each leaf is presented in a hand-felted merino wool pouch. The perfume is $145 + postage. (FN/N1)

NECTAR 2 - AUTUMN EQUINOX has been ageing for five years. It’s bass and baritone notes are Oakmoss, Vetiver, Mysore Sandalwood, Peru Balsam, all synergised into a masculine choir of power and core strength. The altos and tenors are aged Patchouli, French Cypress, Jasmine, Lotus, Rose Moldavian, Neroli and Clary Sage. The sopranos are Mandarin, Cardamon, Cinnamon and Petitgrain. This is a highly complex but gorgeously balanced symphony of fragrance. Enduring & delicate, when worn EVERYONE asks me where can they get some. Presented in a long glass leaf and packaged in a hand felted merino wool and silk pouch with red coral and crystal beads. If I didn’t make it myself, I’d swear it was made in Lothlorien… 8mls $160 plus postage.

NECTAR 3 - THE BRIDAL BOUQUET is a magnificent blend of Turkish Rose, Rose Damascena, Rose Moldavian, Bulgarian Rose, Jasmine Grandiflorum, Neroli, Blood Orange and Oakmoss. The fragrant finesse of NECTAR 4 is settling in very nicely and is due for release in January 2012. NECTAR 4 is an icy dry chablis; a deliberately cool-headed, professionally elegant daytime perfume. Nectar 4's bell-clear top notes of Spearmint, Lavender Mont Blanc and Lemongrass convey a calm, collected presence that seamlessly glides into a sustained note of smoothly blended Sweet Fennel, Clary Sage and Tangerine, gradually easing it's way into a perfect mix of Aged Patchouli, Peppermint, Ylang Ylang (first) and Ginger. A unisex blend... fresh, potent, persuasive.
