5. Handmade Incense, Imported Incense and Smudge

HEKA is a handmade pill incense, traditionally used on lit charcoal blocks. HEKA is made from truly beautiful, all-natural ingredients including: sandalwood, storax, amber, tonka beans, vanilla beans, myrrh, frankincense, benzoin, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, star anise, honeycomb and blood orange brandy. Each ‘pill’ is placed on a lit charcoal block whereupon it releases a truly aromatic feast of sublime pleasures. 50 gms of HEKA is served in an amber pot. $25 + postage

 

LET'S TALK ABOUT INCENSE...  

Being a passionate lover of all-things fragrant I have spent most of my adult life on a quest to seek and destroy all the nasty, cloyingly sweet and eye-watering raw bushfire types of incense, gathering ony the truly great and inspirational types; the types of incense that create blissful moments of tranquil, uplifting, mind-calming tendrils of superbly blended aromas.  

Our very own aromatherapy incense Buddha Sticks is a blank wood fibre stick soaked only in pure essential oils.

Imported incense has 2 categories: Dipped and Masala. Masala incense is a sliver of bamboo that has been hand rolled in highly fragrant, ground plant powders such as tree resins, wood fibres & crushed plant parts. Dipped incense is bamboo dipped in a wood fibre mix blended with binding agent then dipped in intensely fragrant oils (these are synthetic but beautiful fragrances). The masala types of incense are a superior product in terms of natural and high quality ingredients. We offer a small collection of beautiful incense that reflects my personal favourites and includes some well-known flavours, some not very well known flavours and a recommended selection of suggested blends for ultimate journeying into the transcendance of fragrant escapism.
